Kate McElderry is an author and educator based in Baltimore County, Maryland. Declan Someone (The Journey of Declan Noon) is her debut novella, inspired by her own neurodiversity, her students, and time spent writing in Ireland.
Kate is a member of several writing guilds and has presented at numerous learning summits, seminars, conferences, schools, universities, and libraries, including, Baltimore County Library, European Dyslexia Association, American University, Oxford University, Towson University, and more.
Over her career, Kate has served on educational boards and taught at a variety of institutions, including University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC). As a Peace Corps Volunteer and Coordinator in Paraguay, she taught and wrote published curricula.
Kate enjoys spending summers unplugged, reading, writing, and creating art, preferably on the coastline.
